Improving RPO (Renewable Energy Purchase Obligations) Compliance: Distribution companies, Open access consumers and Captive Consumers have the option of purchasing Renewable Power or RECs to meet their Obligations. Alternately they can install a Solar Power Plant. In Operational Expenses (OPEX), Build Own Operate Transfer (BOOT), Solar Power As  A Service (SPAAS) models of going solar, you do not earn Renewable Energy Certificate (RECs). The RECs in all such cases belong to the owner of the Solar Power Plant. To improve your compliance to Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO), Renewable Power Purchase Obligation (RPPO), or Renewable Energy Purchase Obligations (REPO), we recommend you invest fully or partly in the Solar Power Plant. By financing your own Power Plant through debt, you continue to remain the owner fo the asset and earn RECs, improving your compliance to RPO. Because the Sun is Free, and Solar Power Plants are all installed with 25-30 years performance warranty, for every MW installed you can earn as much as 300,000 RECs with a floor price /income of Rs 21 Crores/MW. How Does Grid Interactive System Work: Another doubt is about how Grid Interactive Systems work.
